About Shane

Shane is the Global CISO of A24, and has previously been a Senior Security Architect with QANTAS and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Shane was the first Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information Security outside of the UK, is a Fellow of AISA since 2023, was a founding member of the security thought leadership group, the Jericho Forum, and has completed a United Nations course in Cyber Diplomacy.

Shane was the founder of the international oneworld® airline alliance Information Security Forum covering airlines from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, US, and South America.

He has been an industry representative in the Multi-lateral Network Security Information Exchange (MNSIE) – comprising Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, United Kingdom & USA Government participants.

He has also been an invited representative to the Australian Government IT Security Expert Advisory Group (ITSEAG), part of the Australian Government Trusted Information Sharing Network (TISN), from August 2009 to June 2013.

Shane was the Transport Sector Lead for Australia in the Department of Homeland Security’s Cyberstorm III cyber exercise conducted in 2010, and was an invited attendee at the APEC 2007 data privacy seminars.
